GP P-6E Curtis Hawk
Hey guys I think GP might have another winner here! It's a beauty, I just checked out the video on their website (link below). It's expected at Tower by late Nov. I've always liked this airplane and I think Santa's going to put one under my tree. OS120 FS for me with a Graupner 3-Blade 15 x8! It's gotta be scale!

RE: GP P-6E Curtis Hawk
I haven't been paying attention to the adds lately, and at our club meeting last night I mentioned how I had a goldberg hawk, and Maratuka kit (unbuilt), and one of the guys said, "have you seen the new GP ARF?" You could've knocked me over with a feather! I've loved the P-6e since I was young and built a Monogram 1/72 plastic model. In fact, I bought one off old monogram models off of ebay to build, and I have a carved wooden P-6e on my desk and several larger scale plastic models.
Have I mentioned that THIS IS MY FAVORITE AIRPLANE! Anyway...came home from the meeting last night, looked it up on GP's page, and promptly went on Towers web page and put one on order. I had been thinking about ordering a Super Stearman all year long, but kept putting it off. Glad I waited now! I'm thinking about putting my OS FS120 pumper on it, or maybe the FS91. Either way I'm gonna use a Slimline Inverted Pitts muffler to keep the cowl cutting to a minimum. I was even thinking of trying an RCV, but I don't think they make an in cowl muffler for this. Can't wait until someone gets one (especially me!) so we can see what it's like. Steve |

RE: GP P-6E Curtis Hawk
I have got an RCV91 SP, and I bet the muffler will fit inside the Hawk's cowl. I now have it mounted inside an Edge 540 from seagull, and everything fitted inside (its a .60/.90 kit also)

I think you can download a plan with measurements of each RCV's engine in its webpage, in case you're interested.
I didn't mention I am thinking about a Hawk or a PT-17 for christmas. |
