World Models Rambler 30

I purchased the Rambler 30 as I thought it was a "25" sized plane. I enjoy these most of all. It arrived today and is somewhat larger than I figured. It seems well-made and is beautifully covered. I'm not really interested in speed, so what is a good engine for this. I just got an OS .30FS and was thinking of using that. I'm getting too old for rocket ships. Also, are there any things to watch out for in assembling this kit? Thanks for the help. :)

I just completed one and put an older Magnum .36 on it. It turned out to be a real dog. I'm going to go with a .40 or larger. Mine also came out very tail heavy so the larger engine would be better all the way around. I hear they fly great with a 60-size four stroke.

I have a Rambler 45 with a TT Pro 46 up front. It flies very well. Fast and responsive.

I also had a Rambler 45. The 30 is not much smaller and has plenty of room for as big an engine as you want. A .40 2-stroke or .61 4-stroke would be perfect. My Rambler 45 had a Saito .72 and it was "adequate". No speed demon and no unlimited vertical but still a joy to fly.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like it's a choice between my TT.46 Pro, or my Magnum .52FS. One other question. What about the fuel tank? I've heard they come apart. Thanks again.

I've never had a single problem with World Models fuel tanks and I've had their Dago Red, Rambler 45, Rambler 30, P-51 mustang, Cub 48, Cub 25, T-34, and a Super Sports 40.

Thanks. You've been a big help.

Also, as with any ARF, be sure to replace the included fuel line with some good stuff. All other World Models hardware is useable.

I generally use pink Prather fuel tubing for fuel and blue for pressure. The pink is sometimes pretty stiff. Most stuff you get with fuel tanks is pretty thin and way too flexible. I only use it in very small tanks, such as one ounce or some four ounce tanks that have a short run. The pink is too stiff for them.
