Which STIK?
Will build H-9 US this winter. Would appreciate pros and cons from Stik builders/flyers on 60 vs 120. :)

Bigger is better. Bigger is also more expensive, more hassel, more tinkering. But I refer you to my first statement.

Which STIK?
In other threads on this forum, most people who have or have had both recommend the 60 over the 120, but I can't remember why. Do a search and you should find what your looking for. Personally, I have the 60 I am presently working on. Setting up the quad flaps and running as OS 91 Surpass "thumper" engine. I don't think you can go wrong with either, however. Good luck!

One point - the 1.20 is discontinued. If you build one and bust it up you might not be able to get parts.
You could always pick up a spare kit... :) |
Which STIK?
If you're looking for a Stik, don't overlook the World Models Super Stunt series. Their 40 and 60 are roughly equivalent in size to H9's US 60 and 120. However, the WM Super Stunts are built lighter and priced lower to boot.
Then again, the US120's clearance price of 189.99 is hard to beat. The 60 is getting all the buzz because it's the latest and hottest. For $10 more, I would get the 120 over the 60, while you still can. GP's redesigned Big Stik don't look too bad, either. Prices are very competitive, even more so when you figure in the perennial $15-$20 Tower discounts. Last but not least, the Global Joss Stick is another old favorite. It splits the size difference between the typical 60 and 120 size Sticks. It has foam core wings where most other Stiks are, well..., stick-built. :) It's a good deal when it goes on sale every once in a while. Did I miss any? Anyways, FWIW my vote goes to the WM Super Stunts. I have both the 40 and 60 birds. The 60 has over 1250 sq. in. of wing area and < 14 Oz./sq. ft. with the recommended engine. Best of all, it is the only Stik in existence that features a two-piece wing with aluminum tube joiner and detachable tail feather. I just finished up my SS60 with a 120FS in the nose and can't wait to fly the thing as soon as this incessant rain breaks. |

I highly recommend the GP Big Stick 60. Nostalgic looks (almost exact copy) of the old Ugly Stick from the 60s. It's updated, flys great and is cheap.
