RE: ARC, Falcon Trading cessna.

The spar in the horizontal stab is a hard wood, almost like bass or spruce, not real hard but not balsa. ( some kind of Italian wood ) I have never had a problem with the stab, in fact I think it's pretty ridged.
I have an OS 91 4c on mine and use a 13 - 6 -3 bladed prop. It gives me a little more water / ground clearence and I like the way it slows it down on approaches. When I pull back on the throttle, it just starts a neat decent sort of like having a heavier plane. Even though it's 3 bladed I still have plenty of power to have fun. I had a 14 - 6 on it once but didn't like it.
This I'm not positive of but the trim colors were possibly changed after a batch ran out, or possibly the blue was only sent to the States, mine is blue but it was also one of the first in the States quite awhile ago.
By the way, in case you don't know, there are some hints for repairs ( if needed ) that can be down loaded from the Falcon site. WWW.falcon-trading.com. Keep us informed about your planes. ENJOY !!!! RED

I love the concept of the all plastic plane. I wish they made some other scale planes.......other than the beaver too ;)

I've done flips and cartwheels with mine. It's a little banged up but not broken.

I have flown 1 1/2 gallon now, and I realy like this plane.
I had a deadstick landing one, and I broke the nose wheel steering arm on the gear. I have glued it back on, and re-inforced it with ABS plastic, and works great again.

I have been flying off of wet and muddy grass. My wings and tail get VERY dirty because the wheels throw all the muck all over the plane when taking off and taxi.....

I remembered I had some wheel fairings from another crashed Cessna from GSP, and thought id try install them here.
I think it looks neat ;)

Sonnich, the spats look sensational. You should e-mail the pics to ARC at [email protected]
They may get the hint.
However, since there is a retractable gear version of the full sized C177, they may not!

hehe...i mailed them about buying a new nose gear, and have not heard back from them yet..... I doubt that they will do anything ;)

My repair works great, so im not in need of a new part anyway.

SJN -- make sure that you clean out the wheel pants now and then. All that muck could lock up a wheel and make for a fun takeoff. By the way, sometimes a Dubro nose gear steering arm can be made to work in cases like yours. I used on once for an aileron control arm.

Meesh --- You wouldn't believe some of the things I've put these plastic planes through. Of course there have been a couple that we won't talk about. I also have the Jupiter and the Ready and they are very aerobatic and a blast to fly. I think the funniest ( goof ) thing I did was when I was showing a guy an inverted flat spin (with the Jupiter ) and forgot what I was doing ( talking to much ) and didn't have room to pull out so I just pulled the throttle back and let it land upside down. Then went out and picked it up, fueled it and went up and did it right. They are fun!!!
ENJOY !!! RED

Sonnich, fpr future reference, if you cannot get any joy from ARC for spares, (did you write the e-mail in Italian?) then try Falcon Trading at http://www.falcon-trading.com/contact.cfm

They replied to me promptly.

Also, complete nose wheel assembly is $US15 off their site. However their may be issues with distribution geographical area limits.

if so, try the Scandinavian Distributor:

I hope you get better luck than I got from the Australian "Distributor." He hasn't bought anything into the country from ARC for years, but refuses to let the rights go.

So to get my ARC Cessna, I will have to purchase in Singapore when I am passing through early next year and then talk the airline into accepting the boxes as personal baggage. (I want a 2 kits and a set of floats. Going to be interesting!)

Fortunately, the ARC distributor there has been very helpful and has advised that they will supply spares to me if required. An International phone call and C/C number will have the part mailed down within a week.

Now I just gotta water the money tree again, after just paying the airfare

Hey guys,

I was just given one of these planes to me as a gift. I will fly it this weekend of the local R/C lake, but unfortunately I did not get the instructions with the plane. I have no idea what the recommended control throws are or where the CG is..

I tried the Falcon site, but see that it is no longer active.

Can any of you help me with the setup of this model and perhaps give me any tips for flying it off water.

Thanks!

Sean
