Aileron Servo's getting stuck?
Hey all,
i was testing my Funtana out the other night and something very disconcerning occured. As i rapidly gave the radio left/right aileron, the ailerons got stuck, for maybe 1.5 seconds at full! And then reset themselves. Now this wouldn't be cool in the air. I then split the ailerons to two channels and mixed them together (1&6 for my 7Cap) and thought that the problem had been fixed. I pulled the plane out tonight again to install a battery monitor, tested and the same thing happened, this time only to the aileron on channel 1. it just stalled at full and reset it self after a second or so. Anyone have this happen before? Batteries are charged on both tx and rx possibly a servo malfunction? if it were a servo malfunction it would've happened to only one at a time when connected with a Y cord right? I'm afraid to fly it now receiver is futaba R148DF servos are HITEC 5645 MG tx is Futaba 7C Thanks Thanh |
RE: Aileron Servo's getting stuck?
Put another servo on that channel and see if it does the same thing. I'd lean more toward a bad RX--when the ailerons were Y'd together, were they on Channel one? I'm not that familiar with futaba, but I think ailerons is channel one, aren't they? Then both servos were sticking at full throw when hooked to channel one, and only the one hooked to channel one stuck when they were separated? Something is wrong with channel one--either with the RX, or TX. FIx it before you fly, or it will cause a crash...

I would also say sounds like the RX. It could also be a servo extension if you used the same one both times. I recently sent a RX to Hobby Services. The called me back with a list of problems. The RX was out of warranty so they offered me an exchange. I got a new RX with a new crystal for $40. The old RX had already cost me a $100 replacement Funtana wing. So don't take a chance on it.

Yep gonna definitely send it back to Futaba, have them check it out... Thanks guys... Good thing about this hobby is there's always people you can turn to... Either here or 3000 miles away... Plus always extra parts lying around :D
