RE: Large scale arf piper cub
Great Planes has a 60 size, wingspan is 88 inches, Dave Patrick makes a PA-18 Super cub that is gorgeous, wingspan over 100 inches. and I forget who, but there's a 1/3 scale Arf out there i think. All other Cubs I can think of are kits.

Could this plane be used as a trainer?

As a Trainer??????
We'll i'll stick my neck out there and say any plane with light wing loading and genorous wing area, could be used as a trainer. However, I learned on a taildragger and had no problems. Cubs can be tricky for the novis, because they require a lot of rudder to keep them tracking straight down the runway. Then the combination of extremely lightly loaded wings, and you basically got a kite, so this is where a more experience pilot would be the correct fit for a Cub. It would be a shame to trash such a classic airplane. However our planes our just made of wood and glue and can always be repaired! |
RE: Large scale arf piper cub
Just wondering with all these easy to fly planes why is it so difficult for a begginer to fly a super easy to fly plane
|
RE: Large scale arf piper cub
A Cub would be a very good trainer. But as with any plane its best to have an instructor.
