Heh, by the time I pay for shipping, I can go to the LHS and buy GOOD CA for the same price! What did those 12 bottles cost you, shipping included?

RE: Killer price on 2oz. bottles of CA

My LHS is a local Hobby People. Lowest cost 2 oz bottle of CA is $6.99:

http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/887502.asp

12 bottles would be $83.88 plus tax of $7.34 for a total of $91.22

I got 12 bottles of 2 oz CA from this sale for $23.88 plus $3.99 shipping for a total of $27.87

You do the math........ :D

Oh, forgot to mention I had a $10 off coupon. Cost me $17.87 hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!! [sm=tongue.gif]

Sounds like you did alright, then. I just hope it's decent glue. I've used the OK CA before, and didnt have very good luck with it. It is exactly what the ad says it is... a low cost, budget CA. To give the benefit of the doubt, I guess I COULD have gotten a bad bottle, I dont know, I've never tried it again. Anyway, hope you have good luck with it.;)

If you like Handibond, check the prices here: http://gcbmrc.com/ca_glue.htm
2oz for $4.50. It good glue too. I like it almost as much as Zap. Has good shelf life too.

The last glue I bought, in bulk, was also an unknown. PK Industries. It worked perfectly. I have faith that anything sold under the Robart umbrella is going to be decent. ;)

I just got back from HobbyPeople... 1 bottle 2oz thin, 1 bottle 2oz thick, a small spray can of Zip Kicker, and a package of epoxy brushs..., $27.00 bucks. I'd say you got a good deal. And how do you screw up makeing CA ? I think I mite try some of that stuff myself.

RE: Killer price on 2oz. bottles of CA

I bought several bottles of Hotstuff when I was in RC years ago.
Right after that, I quit the hobby.
Someone had told me that freezing the ca glues extended the shelf life, so I packaged the Hotstuff in sealed, air tight, plastic freezer bags and put then in the deep freeze. Well, out of sight is out of mind, and I forgot about the glue - that is until I started back in RC back in June of this year. It had been in the freezer, with trips from one freezer to another, for about 20 years.

Anyway I got out a bottle of the thicker stuff (Super T), let it come up to room temperature, and it is as good now as it was then.
Fantastic stuff! And freezing it DID prolong the shelf life. At least for me.

The only problem I've seem with any of the ca glues is it getting thicker and thicker, on to the point of solidifying, when left out at room temperatures for extended periods of time.

Just my observations. Thought I'd pass them on. Maybe it will help someone else. :)

That OK ca glue looks like a good deal to me. I'll probably get a few bottles too. :)
Thanks for the heads up.

Ramon

Ramon, I freeze it for long term storage too. It's an excellent solution to extending shelf life.

Your 20 year storage though, takes top honors!! :D [sm=thumbup.gif]

Ah yes, I remember Hot Stuff CA... that was some good stuff!! Wish they still made it, I would definitely use it. lately, I've been using a CA that I get at my local Hobby Lobby. It's called Extreme Power, and it seems to be good stuff. $4.99 for 2 oz. bottles, thin, medium or thick. Been using it mostly because the Hobby Lobby is closer than the LHS is.

Hot Stuff is still available - it's just higher priced now than most other brands.

and
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXM375&P=7]Hot Stuff Super T gap filling 2 oz[/link]

The 2 oz size is for comparison pricing to the other brands 2 oz sizes.

Hey, thanks! I had no idea it was still available. I know all the hobby shops around here USED to carry it, but it just sorta disappeared at some point. I just figured they went out of business or something.
