GP GEE BEE ARF
The Empire says that my Gee BEE should be delivered today. I plan on powering it with a G 23.
s there anything special that I should know about this model? |

What version? I have the GP ARF and love it - except for the landings which i'm hopeing to get nailed down this summer. ;)

I am just about half way with my Great Planes Gee B. It comes in one BIG box, look out
I building it exactly as described with a OS 120 pumped, with a bigger tank. After reading the review here on RCU and I changed the sequense alittle and plan on balancing it to a "T" before I fly it. I've seen another with a G26 and he was able move the radio back and balance it out. My cat keeps trying crawl inside the thing. Gotta go finsh it up |

Somewhere here on RCU there's a huge thread about the GP GeeBee. I think it can be summed up simply. Fun to fly, hard to land. I personally flew mine just twice, the first time successfully, and on the second flight it flipped on landing pretty much ruining the wing. It's got a new wing now, but I haven't flown it since because our field is being reconfigured and the approach from one direction is very limited. Once reconfigured this spring we should have much better approach on final. You have to set this plane up for landing with a lot more thought than most and it needs to be flown down onto it's wheels before the throttle is chopped. With all the frontal area it has, you can't just gun it and expect instant reaction if you want to go around. Anyway, that's the bad, but it is sure fun to fly and nothing else looks like it in the air. Steve |

It's good to know that the GP Gee Bee can be balanced by moving the radio gear around, and still be able to utilize the G26. The landing info is good, too. I'll keep it in mind for use when the snow is gone. |

Remember when setting up a Gee Bee, to put as much of the weight (radio, battery etc) as close to the bottom of the aircraft as possible. Less of a "lever" to help nose over.
