Play in control surfaces

Puting the finishing touches on my WM extra 300s. However I noticed that my controll surfaces have some play in them maybe 1/16". I guess I drilled the holes in the servo arms a little big. Is 1/16" to 1/8" acceptable in a large plane?

No!! Fix it. It's just as bad on a big one as a little one. It'll cause a big dead spot when controls are moving, a feel of controls breaking out when you move them (over sensitive), AND a great risk of flutter.

ok

Thanks. I Will Redo them.

I use to drill out my control horns so the rods fit loose. You "WILL" get flutter by doing this. I had to replace my control horns to get rid of the problem.

Next Question

Is there an easy way to determine what size to drill the holes? Off the top of my head i am not sure what size pushrods came with the wm extra300s.

They are probably metric. Just eyeball a drill next to them and keep em a little tight (light friction fit).
