CG Ultimate woes...Help!

Well.. ran into some maiden flight woes yesterday w/my Goldberg Ultimate (ARF .. ARGG!!) Saito 1.50 on the nose and she deadsticked on me a good 300 yards from the field and with not much room to ditch so I put her in what I thought was some soft bushes. Well she went in pretty good w/that heavy front end, but when I got to the wreck I was somewhat pleasantly surprised.. The nose was the only section that was damaged. Struts were fine no wing or tail damage. Only the nose was broken off. The firewall broke in 3 places (arrgg!) I should have beefed up the nose a bit more w.that big Saito up front but even w/more beef I think she would have still experienced the big damage.. Now I have to re-build and have no idea how to relocate or rebuild the firewall section back to the cabane struts. I could not find a couple of pieces of the nose so that doesn't help (not like the old puzzle and CA approach).. I really need to re-engineer the nose and I guess I am just seeking some advice from anyone who has had experience building a GB Ultimate. I have done my fair share of building and repairing but this repair is a bit intimidating for me. BTW - I really need to get this beauty back in the air. It was up for about 11 minutes before the deadstick (it looks like a fuel line may have seperated) and I must say it was the nicest flying plane that I have flown since my Bel-air 60 Bipe 2 years ago. This plane flew amazingly well and sure looked good in the sky.. Definately deserves another go.... Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

CG Ultimate woes...Help!

Hi,
well, basically just fill in what is missing to the best of your ability. using triangle stock, filler and generous amount of epoxy to put it together and you should do fine.

try to get a thicker piece of plywood for the firewall if you are concerned with the 150 on it, and beef up from there.

hard to give advice without seeing it in detail. best of luck. CG ultimates are meant to fly, not crash. for the most part.
