aw 31% edge and engine choice.
I will be receiving one this week, its in the mail, need to find out what people are thinking about putting in this beast.I talked to rocco @ aw extensively and he swears the g62 was unlimited..I believe him but don't want the "Z" in my plane.Da is coming out with the 50 thats suppose to swing a 24/10 very well and being the airframe with the G62 auw was 18.5 punds the da50 should be more then enough @ a 2 pound weight savings.I wanna know what people who are gonna put this plane together is thinking in regard to a powerplant.I almost opted for a zdz80rv but thats insanity considering the weight vs hp.Zdz 60,3w 70i would seem to be a good fit but they are HEAVY.I am trying to consider wing loading.Any thoughts?

I would call out to Dessert Aircraft I have a DA-50 on order. When I talked with them Last friday they were doing some test flights with a 31% plane with unlimited verticle !!! This may or may not have been the aw 31%. But they quoted me some very impresive numbers and said this will outperform the g62 and in the same airframes would prove to be a better engine combo (more power and less weight)

zdz 60, a da 50 may be to light, that would result in a very very tailheavy plane and would probably end up making you put lead up front, which defeats the purpose of having a lightweight gasser in there? Just my thought on the subject

aw 31% edge and engine choice.
I have an aw31% on order also, me like you have posted many threads on the same subject. I've e-mailed aw and asked the samething, and i guess it's who you get the e-mail from but i was told to get a 3w-70. I really like the ZDZ line much better. I cant decide weather to use ZDZ, BME, 3W or who. Give some advice folks.....
