Servos for Rascal 110
What size servos are being used on the Rascal 110. My buddy bought one several years ago - lost the manual - and now wants to finish the plane - and is asking what servos to use. He has a Saito 160 for it - and will be doing basic flying with it - nothing special. Thanks for the info.

RE: Servos for Rascal 110
Dan,
My red/white Rascal 110 has been flying for a bit over 2 years on JR 811 digitals and a JR4.8 volt 4 cell pack(1400 mah). I have a Saito 1.80 single up front and have all the power and aerobatics I can stand. (I also crawl around at 4 or 5 mph doing one wheel touch and go's, inverted flight, etc.) These aren't the strongest digitals out there but they are holding up well for what I do. This and my JERRY'S BIG BOY are my slow planes for relaxation kind of days at the field. Our Cap 232 and Pitts both have Zenoah G-45's with 18-10's on them and quicken the pulse a lot! They have JR 8611 digital's on them for the extra speed and holding power. It just kinda depends on the motor and prop you use. Did you mean a Saito 1.50 or a Saito 1.80? I don't guess I've seen a Saito 1.60..... Either the 1.50 or 1.80 with a 17-6 APC will get your adrenaline going at full throttle but will slow down for a nice easy time of it. (I'm 175 feet above sea level) Enjoy. Terry:) |

Thanks for the info. I fat fingered in my initial note - my buddy has a Saito 150. I think this will be the ideal plane for him to progress on. He likes more aerobatic stuff, but I am done repairing for him so he is finally listening to me and will match a plane to his flying skills. Dan |
