CMP P-51 Mustang 50 Inverted Engine
Can any one there let me know how to fix the problem of the inverted engine and the tank position? The model has the tank position well over the engine's manufacturer recommendations, and that is causing the engine to stall sooner or later, regardless on where I set the carburator needle. (idle needle).
Thank you. Richard |

I am aware that here guru s are certainly against such a position but once I had had a TT Champion 30L low wing arf which used to siphoning the fuel from tank thru carb throat to ground when resting(so I was keeping it up inclined when resting with full tank). And with a TT 42 GP inverted(idle bleed carb) I never had a problem with engine or flying ability, idling etc.

RE: CMP P-51 Mustang 50 Inverted Engine
Thank for your input Turk1. Although it requires some more attention, I will empty the tank after each flight, and fill it up just before starting the engine. I have not a stand to rest the plane inclined, and also. I know the bleeding will come from the pressure tap in the muffler (that can be strangled, any how). I completed four tanks to beak - in this week end, and the engine looks more reliable, although without any doubt, it is very sensitive to the needle setting (high end).
