Is this plane too big for my engine?
1 Attachment(s)
Been looking around for a new plane having an OS 120 Surpass III pumped. Wanting a semi scale aerobat, pref an Extra 300, with plug-in wings and canopy hatch.
The most intresting plane I have found so far is the Plane Plus Extra 24% having a wingspan of 73" and a lenght of 69". Unfortunatly Plane Plus does not know estemated weight of this plane at this stage. I suppose they have not seen the all new plane for them selfs yet? Question is do you think this plane is too big for my engine? I am not into 3D but would like an aerobat to perform. If too big I will most likely go for the Carl Goldberg Edge 540 that has a 67" wingspan. |
RE: Is this plane too big for my engine?
I think the Planes Plus Extra would work, it won't have unlimited vertical but it should fly well. The OS 120 pump is a strong motor, give it a try.

Size is good, bigger flies better. Weight is bad. I don't know what the weight of the Planes Plus is, but the Goldberg is heavy for it's size. Buy the lighter one.

RE: Is this plane too big for my engine?
Sounds good. I would be happier to hear this if it was not from a RCU member claiming he has payed $1400 to Plane Plus, and then not seen either a plane or any responce to his e-mails asking for his goods or money back... Stories like this makes me wounder if I could trust PP for an intercontinental order?
Next question up would be wich other plane in this size offers plug in wings, canopy hatch while being an semi scale aerobat? |
RE: Is this plane too big for my engine?
Try the following planes:
Black Horse Extra 300 60 - cheap and does fly well, will be pretty powerful on your OS120 WM Extra 330L 60 - dependable quality for sure and the OS120 will be just right |

I had mine in a Sig Cap 231 and really enjoyed it
