Giant Second Plane
Hi All,
I am currently on the market for a large second plane. I have already purchased a Brillelli 26ss, and now I am looking for an airframe to put it on. I have been leaning towards the SIG Rascal 110". That plane looks like a beautifully lazy flier, with easy landings like a trainer. Just wanted to put it out there and see if any of you had a better suggestion for a simular plane... Thanks for the help! |
RE: Giant Second Plane
Rascal would be great for that engine - buddy of mine has an os Surpass 1.20 on his and it flies very strong with that engine - the 26cc gasser would be great on it as well.
The Rascal is an impressive airframe, as it can do a nice slow walking pace flyby, slow enough to do a 1 wheel touch-n-go, and then it'll also fly a nice full throttle knifeedge, hammerhead stall turns, good roll rate on high rates for immelmans, cuban eights, etc. It does a lot of things very well. |

dgallowa,
I have the Brillelli 26cc engine on a CMP Giles 202 (140) running an APC 17X6 prop and it flys the plane very nice. Look at the link for some nice planes for the 26cc gasser. http://www.giantscaleplanes.com/arf60.htm |

Zippi,
Thanks for the response. That Giles does look really nice, however I am looking to stick with a high wing, as this is still only my second plane. bubbap51, The Jerry's Big Boy looks like a nice plane, ill certainly consider it. However, im still leaning towards the Rascal, as it is a fair big larger, and im not so concerned about the price range. I am hoping to stay above a 90" wingspan. Thanks for the help guys, and if anyone else has ideas id love to hear. |
RE: Giant Second Plane
I have a brellilli 26 on the way too, but mine is going in a Raidentech FW-190. I think you better check the deminsions of the rascal's cowl and the 26 gasser. The rascal is a pretty narrow cowl.
Mike Look at a Ultrastick 120or the CG Tiger 120 for a couple great planes for that engine. Happy Flying!! |
RE: Giant Second Plane
The 26 will fit in the Rascal, but a lot will hang out the sides. I have that plane with our old 25 in it. It flies great and ballanced perfect. It is a fun plane to fly and the 26 will give it plenty of power. It lands at a walking speed. If you don't mind the muffler and carb hanging out, go for the Rascal.

RE: Giant Second Plane
This is the plane I plan on putting a Brillelli 26cc SS in, if I can get a couple of dimensions of the plane:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHRC6&P=ML Kangke hasn't responded to an e-mail I sent regarding the dimensions. This is a big plane! |
RE: Giant Second Plane
I was looking at the big monocoupe the other day thinking it should get the 40cc, just to have plenty of get-up and go.
