Shrike ARF Warning!
Do not try to fly this thing without opening up the wings and fixing the landing gear blocks. Apparently they were attached with spit. Went to the field and the first one gave up just taxing on grass. Fixed it and went back thinking it was a fluke and the other one was OK. WRONG! This one gave up on takeoff and cartwheeled the plane doing some damage. Do yourself a favor and fix these blocks before attempting any flight. You can cut the cover and reach inside without having to cut any wood to access them.

RE: Shrike ARF Warning!
I had that happen on a TT arf. I took a picture of the LG blocks without glue, and sent it to TT asking for a new wing, they said they didn't have a replacement wing in stock, would it be OK if they just sent a complete new arf? Thunder Tiger took care of me!

Hey, about that Shrike.............
A buddy of mine maidened his about a month ago. And guess what........... His actually taxied and took off. Amazing!!! But the landing was equally amazing....... Touched down and rolled aaaaaaaaaaaaabout that far. Apparently the Chinese worker who was responsible for gluing those blocks wasn't told to do it. |
