Just got feedback on 202 which Greg and Brett Terry finished up -after I mounted a ZDZ80 single and tuned can in it --
These guys are good flyers and had their dad's 330 also w/ZDZ80 and tuned can for comparison flying. I flew the 330 last year in Unlimited IMAC -It is 22 lbs and is a good performer and a good performance level to compare to. So -- here is what they said - "We put 15 flights on the model last weekend-a great flyer -smooth in rolls and loops and has great control right down to a power off stall.-Perfect spin entries. balance was 1.5 " behind recommended first timer setup - but seemed very good.- a bit of mix required ( normal when setting up cg on the aft side, DH) Torque rolls easy -Snaps on verticals and 45's crisp -pushes and pulls track very well. Landing were done carrying low power down to flare then reducing to idle. - -No aileron corrections needed - A very fun airplane and confidence inspiring. The engine ran easily - choke till it sputters - about 8 flips - then choke off and one or two more flips to starts - restarts -one or two flips" . I paraphrased their comments some what - my additional observations were that it was done quite well by the ARF builders - I added the pipe /exhaust mods as we like the quiet power setups. Personal thing -- The only questions I got as they finished up the model for the weekend, had to do with centering the JR811 Digital Sport servos in the wings. These little servos are the best thing since sliced bread -but being digital - the centers had to be close - All in all a great combo- and not a budget buster . |

Dick,
Thanks for the report. Thats good news on how the plane flew, especially since mine should arrive tomorrow. Do you have any pictures of the tuned can installation? I believe that the web site stated that there were not any provisions for a tuned can installation? Also do you know the ready to fly weight with the cans? Thanks, |
