Ultra-RC/CMPro Katana 50 Center of Gravity with YS-63S?
1 Attachment(s)
Hi all!
I just got done assembling the yellow/purple/blue 53" Ultra-RC Katana (CMP / CMPro), and am posing a question for anyone who may have a similar setup. I installed a YS FZ-63S as a powerplant (17.9 oz) with standard servos (Futaba S3003). 1.3 oz x 5. Battery is located on the floor with about half underneath the throttle servo with the receiver abutted against (right in front of) the rudder/elevator servos. I have the Great Planes CG machine, but when I try to balance the aircraft, it seems to just teeter like a see-saw along the longitudinal line of the aircraft (about the lateral axis) as if one second the aircraft it is nose heavy, the next it seems tail heavy! I am trying to avoid disaster on the maiden flight. The plane came out to 5.5#, so I am trying to avoid adding any more weight if all possible by shifting the battery/receiver around as appropriate. I've build and flown numerous planes, but this one has me scratching my head. Thanks in advance for your help! |

Thanks!
I'll give it a shot...One question, the looped strings that go around the wings: are they wrapped around the dowel or just looped over the top of the dowel? -Dave |
