Hi,
i would like to buy Dragon Lady modell from Modell Tech,66 inch wing span.
If somebody have some info about modell(good & bad), pls inform me(kit,flying caracteristic,manuevering,inverted flight.....).
I would install OS 65 LA.

I have a DL60 with a Saito 150 on it, and it flys great. I think a 65 would be a little disappointing, but it would get the plane off the ground. The DL is extremely well made, in fact the best built ARF I have ever purchased. It is NOT the lightest plane of it's size around. However, it has a thick wing and landings are slow and easy, if you want. Even with a smaller engine, takeoffs are short, due to the incredible lift from that big wing.

The DL will do all the regular aerobatic stuff, knife edge, inverted flight, but it is not a 3D performer. I can, though, hover at about half throttle with the 150 up front. I think it could do with a little bigger rudder, and in fact I'll add some rudder if I ever get serious about the plane's performance. It is also a great lazy, fun fly plane. Not twitchy, and no surprises. In fact, it's pretty hard to spin, but it will do it. The DL is the best windy day plane I own. It handles cross winds very well. It ground handles very well, too. It has a wide landing gear and low center of gravity.

The covering is good, but I recovered mine in Solartex/Worldtex. I just like a fabric covering on a classic styled plane. I painted my own color scheme on it, and then sealed it with Nelson's satin clear waterbased paint. I added crosslinker and it is fuel proof to nearly 100% nitro. I run 20% nitro in my Saito engines.

There are a couple at my field, good first tail dragger, no bad habits.

A friend and I had one, his had a OS 120 4s and I used a YS 91 4s, very good planes.

Can anyone give me the dimensions of the firewall? I have a small ignition engine that might just fit.

If you're wanting a good stable low wing to putter around the sky with the 65, then the Dragon is a great choice. Mine had a Super Tiger 75 giving it good speed and enough for vertical maneuvers. I think you'd be happier if you could afford the 75 to 90 size motors.

Do a search using the search tab at the top of page. Several people posted on this plane a couple of years ago.
The main complaint was the strange covering which made it hard to iron out factory supplied wrinkles. I didn't care for the open cockpit, so I put on a spare canopy that I had. This is one of the many planes I now regret selling or trading off.

my understanding now is that the covering is monocote on the newer arfs.i am flying a dl with an st 90 .ghreat flyer.
