CMP Edge 540-T

Hey all. I recently picked up a 70" CMP Edge 540-T from eBay. Seems to be pretty well built, but a bit on the heavy side. I glassed the wing mounts and firewall now to hopefully eliminate some problems later on. Not sure what engine I want for it....probably a YS1.10 or 140. Anyone have any luck with this plane? Here is a link to some site that sells it just for reference, although the cowl on mine is painted a bit different. I can't find anyone on RCU that has posted about one yet. Thanks.

Hi look for the CMPRO and the Edge 540T 120..... They somehow placed it in a different category....

I also have one which is running with a 25cc gas engine, its shaking apart but I did no re-enforcements or checked the glue joints. Before its maiden I will CA the joints and epoxy the firewall to give it a little more strength.....

I will keep you posted on the maiden....

There are a few threads on this plane out there, they are just hard to find. I am finishing up mine now, I am going to use a 1.10 2 stroke. Looking forward to putting it in the air soon.

Hi

I have one , it's a year old now and doing fine with an EVO GT26cc on her, she is a fat ass at 12lbs.

But she jumps right up there , It really is a nice flying plane and would be alot more fun if you could keep here wgt down around 9 to 10 lbs

Re- glue anything you can reach, if you have the fiberglass landing gear toss it in the trash or use it on a smaller plane, it will fail !!!

If I were to do it again I would put an E-flite BL 110 on this and let her rip.

The plane is a good one .
