Is this too much of a hinge gap?

1 Attachment(s)
I'm putting together a World Models Extra 60 (which is this http://airborne-models.com/html/prod...p?ProductID=82 ) and to have max throws I had to leave a somewhat big gap on the ailerons. I just wanted your opinion on how severe is it [&:]

I do plan to seal all hinges with Monokote.

Thanks :)

I'd fly it

it looks fine to me....I think my Funtana 90 has the same gap or slightly larger and i don't seal my gaps.... I haven't had any problems but I also fly around half throttle or less most of the time on my YS 110... I wouldn't worry about it

Great!

Well, this is not a FULL 3d machine, so I'll seal those gaps anyway to prevent flutter at "high" speeds :D

MinnFlyer.. you'd fly a rock if you had enough free time :D:D

Or enough Horsepower! :D

But seriously, You'd be better off making sure you have good servos and no slop in the linkage if Flutter is your main conbcern

Sealing the gap does very little in the way of preventing flutter

haha I knew it :D

I'll be using Hitec 645's (metal gears, 133oz), z-bends on the servo arm and metal links on the control horn, ya think that'll be enough?

How can I ensure no slop?

Thanks!

You should be fine. After everything is set up wiggle the aileron, if you can feel any play in it, (and you shouldn't) see if you can determine where it's coming from. If it's coming from one of the two connections, try switching to ball links

I sealed them yesterday, I'll see if I can upload some pictures of the result tonight, was a little tricky, but easy :)
