seagull models harrier. what motor?
i got a 90 size harrier and was wondering what motor i should use. i was thinking of something like an evolution 1.00
would this be to little power for this plane? thanks zach |
RE: seagull models harrier. what motor?
A 1.00 2-stroke or a 1.10 4-stroke are the maximum recommended engine sizes for this particular airframe. The Evolution 1.00NX would be one possible choice for this plane, however this particular powerplant is somewhat pricey ($169.99 MSRP) and doesn't share it's small siblings' reputation for reliability.
User reviews for Evolution 1.00NX: http://www.rcuniverse.com/product_gu...?engine_id=843 You might also consider: $119.99 - Super Tigre G-90 (www.towerhobbies.com) $99.77 - SK90AR (www.kangkeusa.com) $149.99 - Magnum XLS-91A (www.hobbypeople.net) $109.95 - JBA 91AR (www.kangkeusa.com) The SK90AR enjoys a 4.5 star rating, the Super Tigre G-90 and Magnum XLS-91A each have a 4 star rating. My advice is save $70 and buy a better engine. |

I have an SK 80 engine and its pure crap! I would look to other brands.

RE: seagull models harrier. what motor?
Hi, I have one with an OS 91FX and Ultrathrust muffler and that is the minimun you will want for serious 3D or a Saito 125 or OS 120. The evolution is too weak and heavy for this airframe, ST 90 is not enough power so I really think those are your choices.

Saito 125. Put the Rx battery just in front of the aft wing tube. By far the best combo (YS110 might give it a run)... APC 16x4W..

RE: seagull models harrier. what motor?
I've had a Harrier for over a year with a Sato 100 in it. It hovers at half throttle and will pull out of a hover. I'm happy with it thou I wouldn't mind a touch more power. but not the extra weight.
Did you buy the recomended setups for $25. What a ripoff. If you buy the plane you should get the setup. I didn't buy them. The plane will not do 3d set up like the manual says. If you can afford it a 4 stroke is defiantly better than a 2 stroke. |
