RE: Removing CA from Covering
I just read about this in another thread. Use acetone on a q-tip.

RE: Removing CA from Covering
Acetone and a rag made out of an old T shirt (all cotton ) and lots of rubbing...
After doing that on some dried / hardened stuff, I make sure to check immediately after using it (when hinging, etc.) while it's still fresh. Getting it off after it's been there for a while can require soaking the area for some time...then lots more rubbing...:D |
RE: Removing CA from Covering
Pure Nitro!!!!!
Just don't try it on paint! |
RE: Removing CA from Covering
That's what I use too - Pure Nitro or a mix of Nitro & Acetone (50:50). Tends to leave a white stain afterwards but if you use Nitro then wash with a damp rag (damped with water) immediately afterwards, the white residue isn't there

RE: Removing CA from Covering
Your LHS should have NHP "Flashback." It turns cured CA to a gel, and then you just wipe it off. I haven't tried it on everything, but it takes cured CA off covering, and if you pour it into a hinge, it bebonds and you can get the control surface off! I've used it to clean off the glue spots on the kitchen bar.
This is all I use anymore because it works, and it's effortless. http://www.flashglue.com/Images/debonder.gif http://www.flashglue.com/HTML/products_set.html |

Let the acetone soak in, but not run anywhere there is no glue that you want dissolved. Take your time and do not apply much force. Let the acetone do the work, not your muscles. Ed Cregger |

volkan, seeing as you're in the u.k. try giving westons a ring,i believe they have a product which was designed to remove ca from coverings,i think it gets it off canopies as well.
