I have a big problem the max I can get on my elevator is only a inch and half it calls for one and three quaters of a inch on high rates. Any suggestions on getting the other quater inch or will this be good enough?

depending of your flying skills it will be enough or not....

I will make the statement that your lack of movement come from a mistake during the hinging procedure or a lack of sanding of the elevator leading edge.
In that case the only think to do is to cut the hinges and rehinge properly.

This is a arf and I put the control horns where they showed to put them. The only thing I have done different, I put 2-56 solid wire instead of the cheap crap they have.

Ok, my question is "does your elevator move enough when you move it by hand?"

Yes, It does but I think I found the problem on the servo I had it on the second to last hole I may be able to get another quater of a inch out of it. It does not help not having a computer radio,

I see that you said you don't have a computer radio....

if you don't have a dual rate, I strongly suggest you to test flight the SE with the low rate control trows !
