EDGE 540

ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS ON A NICE .40 SIZE EDGE 540 FOR 3D. I WANT A FULL FUSE NOT A PROFILE. I HAVE A .46FX TO THROW IN IT.

THANKS IN ADVANCE[8D]

Pacific Aero Models ... Aero Works ... Fliton ... but with a 46 2C you cannot expect much for 3D, it might be hard to prop hang actually as most of the planes come up to about 5.75 - 6 lbs ... Best bet to 3D with a 46 2C is still to go with a profile.

Agreed. Now if you go to the OS50SX ringed engine than the suggested models will work. Remember that control throws and control surface area is everything and 46 size scale planes will not do very well

I had the chance to do 3d on the Aerworks running a 50 in it and while it did OK, the control surface area's really left it lacking

If you had a little larger power plant I would reccomend the Seagull Edge 540. I assembled one last summer and got to fly it a little before winter set in. really didn't get a chance to really wring it out as I had standard servos on it but have since replaced them with high torque servos. I have a Tower hobbies 75 on mine and it seems like it has plenty of power but like I said never go to really wring it out.

I had a 1.60 os in this plane:

It was a lot of fun and performed very well.
I used an apc 17x6w and a zinger 18x6-3. bisson pitts style muffler.
