GP Little Toni

I just bought the Great Planes Little Toni. I am thinking about putting the OS 91FX on it. I can also use the Saito 100. I want it to be as fast as possible.

I saw the thread with the Bission ultimate pitts muffler. What are most of you using for a muffler for the OS 91? Should I just get the muffler extension? They have two lengths. A half inch and a 1 1/2 inch. The Slimline pitts looks like it would also be a good choice. If possible I would like the muffler in the cowl.

What do you guys think?

One of our club members uses an OS91 4 stroker in his with a Slimline muffler. It fits but barely. Flies great on the .91, thinking of buying one myself.

I had an OS 91 Four Stroke on mine. Use the muffler that came with the enginer and mounted the engine and muffler just like in the manual.

WOP. How does this really help with his situation?

Anyways, I think the slimline would be better as it is a bit smaller. It is a very tight sqeeze. I have a G90 Super Tigre with a slimline Pitts and it was a wicked time fitting the cowl.

I have decided to go with the Jett 90LX with the "Toni" extensions. I want all the speed I can get out of this plane.

Thanks for the help!

RE: GP Little Toni

i am about 2/3's finished with my new toni. I am putting the os91 that came off my h9 ultra stick 60(replaced os91 with os120 on the ultra stick) the os91 has been the best of my os engines, i had about 50+ flights on it, but i got a deal on the os120. I can't use the tune pipe, so i am using a macs muffler for the os91, I plan to install muffler with the 1&1/2 inch extension after the cown is installed, also found some nice os gaskets for the muffler and extension. I will post some pics and stats later. Would you let us know how your "Toni" does?
thanks,
George G. Royal

RE: GP Little Toni

Looking for a few ideas, I need to change the colors of my Little Toni because the color of red the plane messes with my eyes, I always lose orientation of the plane in the sky. I am trying to figure out which two colors to go with. I thought about doing the main color in white but then the decals would not work. The plan is I want everything thats red on the plane now to be one color and whats white on the plane now to be the other color. Anyone have a cool color scheme?

Thanks

A cub yellow is one of my favorites. Red also works for me.

RE: GP Little Toni

I had to go with the longer extension, the short one does not clear the fuselage. OS does not make a medium length. I like the GP RV, is it as fast as the Toni? I looked at the RV at Towers. Do they make n ARF in a larger size?
Thanks,
George G. Royal

RE: GP Little Toni

They are selling a 60-90 size ARF currently, but it will not be as fast as a little Toni. But it is a much nicer model which is very scale.:D

RE: GP Little Toni

I added the RV to my Tower's wish list, I like the size and monocote, nice photos on the web site. I have looked at towers for almost 2 years and I have not seen all the planes. Thanks for pointing out the 60-90RV. My son and I are looking for this size and above, the smaller planes are getting too hard to see.
Thanks for the info, looking forward to reading more of you posts,
George G. Royal

RE: GP Little Toni

Flew the Little Toni this past weekend. Started with a 14x8, then switch to a 14x7, the 14x7 is a lot faster. The plane flys great and is very fast. Did not put the radar gun on it(too many people at the field). We use the radar gun(Bushnell) on weekdays when there are just a couple of people. The OS91 had about 40-50 flights on a Ultra Stick 60 so it was already broke-in.

RE: GP Little Toni

I have been looking for pictures of the real Little Toni and did not come up with anything. I would love to get another one but I have trouble keeping track of it in the sky because its all one color. I was looking for some paint jobs of the Little Toni back in the day to get some ideas but found nothing. I thought about repainting the fiberglass fuse, but the more I think about it the more of a pain its going to try to be getting the paint to match the monokote or ultracote 100%. So now I am thinking about just doing something with the covering. I think if I add some white it will help out alot because I have no trouble keeping track of the Minnow.

Slick.

These are totally different animals. The pole cat appears to be some sort of 3D plane. Just look at the size of the tail surfaces. The little Tonie is a very fast plane.:D

I"m putting a YS 91 heli motor in it with a MAC header and tuned pipe. It will take a while to build but I bet it's really going to haul the mail.
