Suggestions for planes
 

I have a teenager that has lost his nerve a little bit after a run of bad luck crashes and a few spare engines looking for planes and am looking for some suggestions of what to build.

the motors are:

1 x Saito 1.80 (NIB)
2 x Saito 82's (both NIB)
1 x Saito 56 (about 1 gallon through it)

I'm looking for some suggestions for some nice easy to fly planes - don't need to be super aerobatic - just Sunday fliers (typical good 2nd planes). I would also consider something for glider towing / launching with one of the engines.

Get a sig 4star for one of the 80 size saito's that is a nice easy flying plane.

World Models Skyraider MachII for the Saito 56. GREAT plane.

A U Can Do for the Saito 82 would work very well. They are somewhat easier to fly and can teach some basic 3D stuff.

Sig 4star40 with the saito 56 in it to start; then as he gets his nerve back put the 82 in it and let him run wild.

You simply can't go wrong with a 4* man.

Thanks for the suggestions all - please keep them coming.
I've been thinking about getting a 4 star for a while - never owned one but have had a fly of one a few times. This will justify me getting one.Maybe I'll put the 1.80 in an Ultrastick 1.20 for him and keep the 4 star for myself.
I have 2 x UCDs already (a 60 and a giant) I've been letting him fly the 60 (Which has a Saito 1.25 in it) but he's worried that he may break it (See below - he broke two of mine in one day).
I'm thinking of getting another Seagull Spacewalker for the 56 (my last one had an 82 in it and I removed the dihedral - that was fun until it got broken)




He's actually a better pilot than me, just a little bit shaken at the moment
I'll give you some background on some of the crashes he had

1 x dumb thumbs of my 2m Extra - fast inverted low pass followed by the wrong elevator stick direction (There are three types of rc flyers - those that have done this, those that will do it again sometime and those that have not done this yet but will) :eek:.
1 x Mid air (Neither pilot saw the other until the toothpicks fell out of the sky) with My Harrier.
1 x huge Radio glitch (failure) of his Ultrastick

All in the same day[&o]
Days like that can be a little disconcerting to anybody.

Would do a Sig Kadet Sr. in a heartbeat for the Saito .56. It is an incredible plane to fly and do touch and go's with as well as about the perfect plane for float flying. No, you don't have to add more power for the floats. I have one with that engine. Great plane to teach you cross wind take offs and landings as well. Have all kinds of other planes to fly but always enjoy the Kadet and fly it every chance I get.
