I started this arf a few years ago, and got caught up in other projects. Plan to finish it. Any comments from super stick owners? Thinking of using a .914st either thundertiger or Magnum, .61 or .75 2st is a possibility....what have you used with this plane? Thanks!!

This is the one Hangar 9 ARF that I did not like.

It is really just a poor mans UltraStick.

My problems with the Kit..

Shelfpaper covering.
Poorly matched wing halves.
Impossible to balance.

I trashed it and got an Ultra stick 40. Much happier with this plane.

This was my first Stick a couple years ago. Awsome looking but when I started flying it I realized I was having trouble telling weather it was inverted or not. It also flew heavy. I called it my lead sled. I recovered it in monocoat and it was my daily flyer. I lost it when I put floats on it. not sure what happened... stright up then stright down :( had no control at all BUT it responded like it was way tail heavy. I had an O.S. 61fx and many hours of enjoyment. Go with the biger engines... IMHO I'd go with the Tower hobbies 75... Had one on a 4*60 and never used a starter on it. Great engine for the money.

I got a Super Stick 60 as a second plane after I learned to fly with a LT40. Mine has an OS70 4s and flys great. I usually fly at less than half throttle. It won't hover, but I can't go vertical and hang it for a few seconds.

I fly it with a JR radio and programmed it with flaperons. When I deploy the flaps I can really make it crawl.

I bought it from a club mate who had an OS91 4s on it. I remember watching him fly it. It could really move. I'm sure you'll like it.

Hope that helps.

H9 SS.60 CG

ggale,

Just a word of caution. The CG of 1/8" behind the main spar, as indicated in the assembly manual is incorrect. I have some pencil notes in my manual which indicate the CG at 3/4" behind the main spar, not 1/8". This may or may not be correct; it's been a long time since I assembled mine.

I suggest that you contact Horizon Product Support to confirm the correct CG.

Regards to all!

I have a Super Stick 60 with an Irvine 72 which pulls it great. Easy to fly and land. Shelf paper covering the biggest negative. Other than that, I love it.
