hey i've been having a problem with my venus 40 tip stalling (high speed stall). has anyone else had that same problem.

As in when you pull a lot of elevator or when, what, how?

when your doing a fly-by and you do a sharp pull up (3/4 to full elevator) and the plane pulls up and about 2/3 of the way up the wing stalls and snap rolls right. it's also done this inverted and and in the landing pattern.

How much elevator throw have you got at full deflection?

The Venus
I recently got this plane and have about 15 flights on it. I havent noticed any type of tip stalling. I can land at an absolute crawl and it flys great. I am not in the habit of doing full power and full elevator maneuvers but I did try one to see what the plane would do. On high rates I got just under full elevator before it made a very slight roll. Keep in mind this is NOT a funfly type of plane and is designed to do maneuvers large and with great precision. Pulling full elevator at full power is not what this plane is made to do. Snaps are great and stop immediatly with the releasing of the sticks. Tracks straight vertically with 1 washer added to give it more right thrust. Absolute blast to fly!

Throw?
Decrease the elevator travel... That is my best guess-

dude, sundevel, your plane has the exact same setup that mine had minus the 9001 i used a hitec but on to the subject. i don't know what your flying level is but try going full power and pull strait up. it might just be me or somthing but it will tipstall. but other than that i thought it was one of the best planes that i ever flew i sugest doing inverten fly bys and spins it handles those realy well. as for 3D anything goes with that. i realy liked the lomcevoc (not shure how that's spelled) that it did.

From a full speed pass I can pull mine into a sharp 90 degree upline, no snap. If I try and do a complete small loop at high speed it will snap out just past the top. Same thing inverted. Will pull mine down latter today and measure the throws and the CG.

Measured the up on the elevator and it was 1 1/2". When I pull verticle at high speed I pull all the way back so I'm using all 1 1/2" of travel. Did not check the CG but do remember that it was towards the front of the recommened range cause thats where it flew best for knife edge flight. Sorry it took so long to post.

I will have a full review and video on the Venus ARF forthcoming soon...it has been delayed quite a bit by the horrible weather and snow here in new jersey this winter. Last year I flew more in December and January then I did all summer. This winter...I'm staring out my window from the computer :(
Looking forward to some good flight testing and will post the article in the RCU magazine when done. Hopefully soon if mother nature gives up her reign of terror |

It's an elevator travel thing. My Majestic, set up with the stock throw, will carve a very sharp corner with full deflection. Set up with higher rates, it will snap upon full elevator deflection. Also if you can laterally balance your plane it will help some.
