Recommend a 25 size bird....

I've got a OS .32 and some electronics laying around that I'd like to do something with rather than just let it sit in a drawer. I know my options are limited but what would you folks recommend? I'd go with a Aerobatic, scale or even a warbird... just nothing over $100 or so...

I actually just saw this 25 size Edge...

What do you folks think?

Thanks..

Try the Modeltech extra 300 at hobby people. You can get it for $59.99 and it flies well. I have seen bad comments here on RCU about the Edge you mentioned.

Thanks... Wasn't aware of the negative comments about it. The model tech does look very nice. Is it available as a kit also? I only found the ARF version on HP. Here's the link...

Also check out the Global Tequila Sunrise available at tower hobbies. There are a couple of these at our club. They look like a fun little plane.

Same plane, same website for $40.00 cheaper. I bought this version and it was a modeltech. I don't know about a kit version. http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/123407.asp

If you want to build get a Sig Kobra. These fly much better than the others mentioned and you get to build it. Tower sells these.

I have the Modeltech as well as many NP planes.

The Modeltech flies very well with a .32, but ugh what a lousy build.... especially those plastic pieces.

You are better off with the NP ARF. It's a much better plane.

The negative comments about the extra were about a different larger version with too high of a wing loading.

Your talking about Red Edge 540 right? I'm glad to hear that. I actually like that one better. Looks nicer I think...

Yeah, don't hold me to that yet though... I need to search the other thread on this.

The complaints stemmed from what was perceived as tip stalls when the plane was brought in for a landing.

The shorter wings on these planes requires some throttle upon landing and it could well be that the pilot was not used to highly loaded tail draggers.

Never-the-less the build quality on this one is good.

The Modeltech has much wider wings, but the NP is a much nicer plane.

they also have a a $99.00 version of it also. it is covered in monokote. the $59.00 version is not. hobby people is trying to sell out all their older modeltech and sportsman avaiton arfs and they are going to have them manufactured with better covering such as monokote and sell them under hobby people name. but for $59.00 dollars you cannot beat it.............also phoenix models has a sonic .25 low or high wing arf .

I have the more expensiver version and I do not like the quality of the build... for the money the NP plane is better.

My $59.00 one is covered in monokote. So is my $59 dollar .25 size Piper Cub as well. I believe doth are built better than the Richmodel and Flymodel brand Arf's that Nitroplanes sells. Although I usually like those too.
