Somethin Extra engine mount bolts
 

Does anyone know what size of bolts are used for the engine mount of the SIG Somthin" Extra. It appear that I have lost them in the middle of a flight, don't know how it happened without me realizing till I landed, but anyways, it appears that they might be metric as I can not find a bolt that will fit the blind nuts. Oh and I lost my manual so I can not chek for myself. Any help is greatly appreciated as I can not fly before I get these bolts[&o]

are you talking about the ARF or the kit ? and I assume you mean the bolts that hold the mount to the firewall not the bolts that hold the motor to the mount. I have the ARF I will look and see what mine are.

Yes, I do mean the ARF. And yes it is the the bolts that hold the mount to the fire wall, they all came unscrewed when I was flying last sunday.

I don't remember what size bolts went into the SSE I had. I lost the plane when I had dumb thumbs years ago.

If I may suggest: Swap out the blind nuts and putting in SAE bolts? I try to swap out the metrics when ever I can, just makes it easier to get replacement bolts and nuts.

If I were doing it again I might, but it makes it a little more difficult when everything is alread in. I never really thought of this while I was building, but thinking back, loctite would have been a really good idea. Just about lost the plane do to the engine coming off. Betcha havn't seen that before.

Sorry I got side tracked, I have the book in front of me now and it says: (PM4 x 22mm Phillips head bolts - motor mount) I don't have a clue what a PM4 bolt is unless it is just a 4mm bolt, the 22mm is the length of the bolt I'm pretty sure. Hope that is what you are looking for.

Fossil, that is what I am looking for. I think that that is a 4mm bolt. Now comes the next problem, where to find them. Thanks for all the help.

Your welcome, Do you have ACE Hardware stores there? If you do they will have them.
