Sig Rascal 110
A friend of mine...no really...received a Rascal 110 for Valentines day. (Lucky fellow) He want's to go gas with it and is considering a Fuji BT32. Neither of us have been able to find any really useful
dimensions. Just length, height and weight kind of stuff. He's looking for real dimensions like height from c/l of engine, mounting lug spacing and so forth. In short, could he mount this thing in a Rascal 110 and still keep it looking reasonable. If not, I'm sure he's open to suggestions. Thanks Mike |

If you go to www.towerhobbies.com and type "LXAEA2" in the search box and hit enter it will bring up the fuji you are interested in along with all the info.
I have no experience with fuji engines but remember reading somewhere that they are hard to flip start. You might do a search on RCU by typing in "fuji engines" Your friend might consider an RCS 1.4 or 1.8 engine for his plane, they are great little engines and RCShowcase that sells them have excellent customer service. www.rcshowcase.com |

Sig is distributing a new 1.3 or 1.4 gas engine that was designed for the Rascal 110.

Hand-starting is not easy - be prepared to add a spring starter ($80 penalty) or invest in a Megatron starter and batteries ($200 penalty). Some owners have also reported unusually high replacement parts pricing. Just something to think about should you bend something. aha! Here's the info I remembered. parts pricing ~> http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...220&forumid=37 starting fun ~> http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...392&forumid=38] |
Rascal 110 and Fuji
I have a Rascal with a Zenoah G23 mounted on the nose. The Rascal has a VERY narrow airframe, and my Zenoah G23 backplate just barely fit inside the cowl width. Your friend is correct in wanting to check these dimensions before comitting!
