Spruced up a Pulse XT

My faithful pulse has been going strong for the last season or so and I thought she deserved a bit of a reward. This is what I came up with. Some time, and airbrush, and good fuel resistant paint had the old girl looking evil in no time!

I think you need to do the center part of the stab to match.

Oh great, I think you just created more work for me because my wife read your post and said: "That's just what I was thinking";)

Very Talented. I would let you paint my TWIST wing if you are needing something to do. :D

I was thinking about doing some stuff for others but with the price of shipping parts back and forth to AK I'm afraid it would be too damn expensive for most folks to want to bother with??

Hey, looks awesome, i just got my Pulse in the mail today and started on it. I am pretty happy with it so far, there were quite a few wrinkles in the covering but a little work with the iron and she is drum tight all over now. Just wondering, would it look any better with the engine side mounted with a pitts muffler on it?? Or is it more of a hassle than it's worth.

More hassle than it is worth! Just mount it upright and use a regular muffler and you'll be golden. The lines of the plane lend themselves to having the engine sticking out of the top of the cowl and if you keep it that way almost all of the hard work is done for you as far as mounting the engine goes.

I also just picked up a Pulse xt arf. Gonna put a saito 72 four stroke in it.

I would think the Saito should rip her around just fine. Mine has a very well used O.S. .46fx on the nose and it is powered just about right for a sport type plane. It will hover but there is nothing left to pull her out. Has decent vertical and plenty of power for standard aerobatics. I'm running a Zinger 12x5 on it BTW.

Well, you asked for it, and here it is.....I painted the stab and the spinner to match!

Ahh.. Much better! I also like your solution to hiding the starter rings in the spinner. :D

Yes, very nice.

Now, about that vertical stab... there's some white that hasn't been covered....

Just kidding!

Thanks, it's all your fault Jim. I think you owe me a beer or something.:D I could have replaced the spinner but I thought I would see how well the paint held up. Now that I have a bit more starting technique, I don't burn rings in it as much!..lol.
