Megatech J3 Cub 25 Manual

Hi everyone.
I've been reading this forum for years but this is my first post. You folks are so knowledgeable I usually find the answer with a quick search. I have a Megatech J3 Cub 25. It’s been sitting around for years and I misplaced the manual. The plane is ready to fly but I need to set the control throws and balance. I set the balance at 25% of the MAC but I would feel better if it could be confirmed. If anyone has this manual I would be greatly appreciative for this information. Thanks.

Sorry! Not Megatech... Actually it's a Global J3 Cub 25 ARF. Modeltech makes one just like it -- probably the same maker.

Hey, you know I have a manual laying around the house...lol
I can give you the throws and CG next time I see you at the park or e-mail them to you.;)
It'd be cool to see 2 in the air...must get pics ! (I'd post them now but I'm at work[8D])

The other Steve:)

Thanks Steve, that would be great. That plane has been sitting around long enough, it needs to fly! As soon as the field dries out I'll give it a try. I flew my GP 40 Cub the other day and had a bit of a scare. Don't know if I had a radio hit or what but I lost control for a few seconds. I'm going to change that old receiver, it's about 12 years old, with the one in the Global cub. I think I'll give that new Berg 7 ch. a try in the little cub.

RE: Megatech J3 Cub 25 Manual

I've been really happy with all my Berg Rx's, should work great.

Here's the CG and throws per the manual:

CG: 1 and 7/8ths inches from the leading edge. My cub is slightly nose down at this point. Manual states not to deviate any more than 1/4 inch forward or aft of that CG. Max aft CG 2 and 1/8ths inches from leading edge of wing at fuselage sides.

Throws: Elevator: 3/8ths of an inch up and down low rates, 1/2 inch high rates.
Ailerons: 1/4 inch low rates, 3/8ths, high rates
Rudder: 3/4 inch low rates, 1 inch high rates

All those measurements for throws are each way, not total travel. So that would be 3/8ths up and 3/8ths down on the elevator for example.

Thanks again Steve. That ought to get me into the air.
