HElp with plane selection
Hello all,
I'm interested in Sport Wings 90 from the wings maker http://www.thewingsmaker.com/airplan...php?code=GA011 What I'm looking is for something easy to fly, stable, NOT very arobatic or fast flying plane. What do you guys think about this plane from what you see in the picture? Also do you think I can use a small Gas engine in this instead of 4 cycle glow? Thanks Borna |
RE: HElp with plane selection
It looks like a nice plane, it looks like one of these would work well in one. I've flown two planes powered with it that where .90 size and it powered them well, and they ran great.

RE: HElp with plane selection
This ARF looks a lot like a .90-sized version of the Super Sportster. You should be able to set it up with gentle control throws and a mildly pitched sport prop to get exactly the flying characteristics you're looking for. It also looks like it's just the right size for a 20-to-26-sized gas engine.
Good luck and be sure to post back here on how your project is coming along. |
RE: HElp with plane selection
That airplane is the World Models Super Sport Senior with different covering. It is a great flyer, but it is very light (read that as not very sturdy). It flies very well on a 91 four stroke. A 1.20 four stroke is way more than it needs. (I have flown it with both, including on floats with the 91.)
A gas engine won't fit inside the cowl, and you would probably have to reinforce the fuselage to handle the vibration. Not to mention the balance problem. It's a very nice airplane, just not very appropriate for gas. Jim |
RE: HElp with plane selection
Thanks for the info. I was not aware that this was World Models Super Sport Senior. I search on World Models Super Sport Senior and found out it works well with Gas engine

RE: HElp with plane selection
Well, did you buy the plane and put a gasser in it?

RE: HElp with plane selection
Yes I bought the plane. and got to tell you that is a nice plane. I haven't build it yet because I was busy converting a GMS 120 glow engin to GAS which I'm going to use it for that plane. See the engine and the conversion process at
