Tail Heavy Pulse XT?

Anybody have their Pulse come out tail heavy? Balanced my Pulse PNP and it looks like it`ll take several ounces in the nose. I was surprised since I`ve read that they are usually spot on. Think I`ll get somebody to check my measurement since I just put the CG machine together and really don`t have a lot of balancing experience.

Hello TideFlyer,

My pulse ART balanced exactly as required with no weight added; power is OS .46FX, am not sure of its weight. Actually, was pleasantly surprised model did not need any additonal weight anywhere to obtain proper CG.

My friend and I both have Pulses, and both are powered by TT 46pro engines. My plane balanced with no weight needed (to my surprise), and my friends needed some tail weight. It is no big deal that a plane doesn't perfectly balance as built, requiring either some nose weight or tail weight (or some shifting of batteries etc). Some modelers go to unreal lengths to shift weight so that NO WEIGHT IS ADDED ANYWHERE, but I have never felt this was necessary as long as the added weight is not excessive (the only time that an extreme amount of weight was used was on a Tiger 60, which required lots of nose weight).

You will enjoy your Pulse, it is a nice, easy flying plane, that can be very relaxing, and yet capable of aerobatics.

Tideflyer --
My PNP Pulse balanced perfectly, and I epoxied the tail surfaces on, and also used the bolts. You might want to have someone else take a look at it for you.
I marked the CG location on the fuse, and just used my fingertips to check the balance. Olny took a minute to do it, and I didn't use a balancing machine, just 'cause I didn't want to take the time to get it down and put it together.
Mine flies great.

My Pulse XT PNP needed tail weight. I did not epoxy on the tail surfaces though.

My Pulse ARF balanced right on the recommended point. After some flying, I did add a small amount of tail weight to balance where I liked it best.

The EVO is a heavier engine than some others. Mine was a tad nose heavy and needed just a bit of tail weight. I always use a CG machine.
