Giant Cub help
I bought a huge ARF j-3 piper cub from Hobby People and installed a Jag engines two cycle Ryobi weedwacker engine in it. It is about 28-32cc. It generates around 3 h.p.. My question is this enuff to fly scale? The plane is a 1/3 scale piper about 11 foot wingspan. Thanks Anchorboy 46

you can try it, but I think that a 45cc or bigger would be better., I have a mustang 50 in my 1/3 scale cub with smoke and fly's great.

Giant Cub help
I allways try to have just a little more power than needed, you just never know when that extra power can save you untill you need it. Allso most 1/3 scale cubs that I have seen or read about
use at least a 45cc on up. you can see what your plane wgt is before you add your engine, If it's around say 24-25 lbs I would go with a 50cc or larger, you can allway throttle back once airborn. Hope this info helps. |
