dp extra vs sig extra

I dont kno if anyone has talked bout this or not but i was wondering if anyone had any comments bout the dp extra and the sig extra. I want to pick one but only seem to get equal positve results , dp is bigger and needs a bigger engine but im willin to put aside money and go for what ever one flys the best. Any suggestions??

dp extra vs sig extra

Love my DP. It's a wild plane. Mine flies well with a Moki 1.8, but I'd rather have a 40-50cc gasser on it though because gas is cheaper and my plane needed some nose weight anyway. The fuse is quite large for a supposedly 25% plane, and so is the wing chord; it is like taking a 28% Extra and clipping the wings to 25% wingspan. It looks larger in the air than its 76" span suggests.

dp extra vs sig extra

i have owned both of the above planes:

The DP is strong in all aspects were the sig is strong at IMAC.

so DP wins hands down......
MY DP has a brison 3.2 swinging a 22 x 8 Menz.....

DP / Sig Extras

Completing the Sig Extra now and have a DP Edge on the way. Haven't flown either so I'll leave that to others - plenty of commentary on other threads showing that the pilot is the only limitation to either of these A/C.

Bought a BME 50 with the Sig in mind but decided it was way too much power and plan to mount a Saito 180 instead. Sooooo, picked the DP Edge for the BME.

From the quality and building aspects I'd say that the Sig Extra is very close in build quality to DP, certainly much better than the GP arfs I've owned (Giles 202 & UCanDo). I've inspected a friend's DP Extra before ording the Edge and was very impressed.

I expect both A/C to be excellent performers with the Sig being more IMAC pattern oriented and the DP Edge to be a knockout at 3D.

Let me throw this off-thread comment into the fire: the UCanDo3D is the best all-round flying and 3D capable A/C for the money out there now. Flying it with a Saito 91 and learning 3D has been a blast!

dp extra vs sig extra

Thank you for all your comments and im gonna go with the dp extra. It will be my first large aerobatic plane and ill probably put a gas engine in it. Has anyone found the perfect engine for this plane?? Im thinkin a moki 2.10 or a zenoah g-45. Has anyone put a first place engine up front?? What kind of servos did u use??
