I just mounted an OS 120 4st horizontally into this plane and would like to hear some flying reports.

What engine are you using and did you go with the single servo on the elevators as the instructions ( that are not for the newbees) suggest. The plane is contructed fairly well and the covering is no-name but for the money..it's definitly a good purchase. It seems that the fuel tank compartment seem small for any large four-stroke engine. Also the hardware is better suited for a .50 size plane. Other than that I'm hoping the 120 won't be too heavy. Any response would be appreciated! Mikel-t

I have the .60 version of this plane ( the purple/red/white one in the pictures which are NOT from the 1.40 version ).

Does yours look like the pics on top or bottom?

The .60 is a good flyer with no unplesant characterisitics. It sounds like you've already gone over yours, making changes as required..

OPJOSE, where do you fly in Maryland?. I'm with FreeState in Laurel. Yeah the plane I have is the one on top ( no stars ) so its a .90 size plane and seems to be a great deal at $129.00 bucks....you can't buy a park flyer for that!. I like your signature .Buy em, Build em, Crash em. This can be an @$^$$&& expensive hobby! I love it!

Hi, do you have the 73" 140 or the 65" 90? I wouldn't think that OS120FS would be enough for the 140 but it would be great in the 90. I have a 65" Giles 202 and that engine is just right. B-

I have the 140......and it does say the 120 is the bottom of the power range....hmmmm... I have a Saito 150 but that will definately push the AUW to over 5.5Kg.....12lbs! Yikes! [:@]

Great setup... come on by sometime... I'm there most Saturdays and Sundays after 2, when the weather is good.

Yes it's very nice looking too.

I'd suggest a can of Top Flite Clear coat spray to preserve the finish.

I did it on mine, to prevent the covering from lifting due to fuel dissolving the adhesive.

Remove any clear plastic pieces.

Buff the existing covering lightly with a PLASTIC dish pad.

Apply a light coat of TF clear coat.

Wait 15 minutes.

Repeat.

Wait 15

Turn the plane over

Repeat.

Continue until you have completely covered the surfaces with a fine light coat several times over.

Allow 48 hours or more for it to dry fully.

Once dry buff again with the pad to restore the shine.

You'll note that all of the edges will now be fully sealed.

You can apply it right over the decals.

Clever idea. I'm going to use clear ultracote to seal the hinges so how does this effect them?. Does it build-up or what?

Unless you are going to seriously overspeed the plane and leave gaps at the hinge lines I wouldn't think that the Ultracoat seal would be needed. The surfaces are not that big.

In any case you should apply the seal before you spray.

Try to do the best job you can getting bubbles out of the covering... you can reheat the area after the clear coat has dried, but it works out best if you do all resealing first.

This is the .90 size plane with 65" ws , http://www.nitroplanes.com/cmpex309065a.html , I think they show 2 planes in this covering scheme. Which is why I am going with the OS 120.[sm=red_smile.gif] Confused, I'm not confused, ...what was the question?

I also have this plane with an Airworld Moki 180gas in its nose.Actually this is my 2nd Cmpro E 300s.I"ve sold the 1st one with a ST2300 engine because i hated to clean the glow residue on the plane.
The 2nd one with a gasser is one of my favorite plane.I@ve been flying it for a year now with great satisfaction.
Sometimes I"m towing big gliders with the Extra,its a huge fun and a good practice as well.I love this birdy.
