Elevator throw question??

Alright, I have a seagull models superstar and I've heard that too much elevator throw is a no no. Does anyone know the travel?

RE: Elevator throw question??

The manual setting is too high. On my Seagull Superstar, I have 3/8" each way, no expo and I can easily do the IMAC intermediate routines with it. It won't do most 3D maneuvers at that setting, but it won't tip stall either, and it was never designed to do 3D anyway.

If you want to get wild and crazy with it, set the low rate at 3/8" and the high rate at 45 degrees (you will need digital servos if you do that), then make sure you are 5 mistakes high when you switch to high rate.

Pete, the way to determine the "right" amount of control throw is to fly the airplane. It will tell you what you need to know. The amount of throw on another plane may not give the same result on your particular plane.
