Venus with YS63 questions

I would like to know what will be the best prop for the YS63 on the Venus for pattern style flying using 30% Heli Fuel.

Also, a recommended runnning and peak rpm would be helpfull as the YS63 instructions have me a little confused.

YS instructions do not really give a detailed method for breakin like OS and Saito instructions...so I'm trying to find out what the best sequence is for breakin.

One more thing...what would be the recommended tuned pipe for my YS63 on a Venus.

Thanks for any Help

YS 63 four stroke??

I am running a 13X6 prop on mine. I am running YS 20/20 fuel.

The break in is about three or four tanks of slightly rich running. After that it is all done and ready to run.

Tuned pipes are for 2 stroke. They do nothing for a 4 stroke engine.

I do not know the RPM, but it yanks my Spectrum up like a rocket.

Dru.

I like the 12x8 running 30% heli fuel on mine (similar to the Venus) for pattern flying. I like the 13x4w for 3d, the 13x6 is a good in-between prop (best of both worlds).

I remember reading that you should try to prop it for around 10,800 max. rpm. If I find it I will post it.

Breakin?? ditto what blvdbuzzard says (I still keep it a little on the rich side).

Tuned pipe?? Don't think 4s really need them (although I have seen them on a few planes), not sure how it would be effective. This engine on this plane should already be a missle (I fly pattern sequences at 1/3 throttle most of the time).

I run my YS 63 at 11,200 rpm on Graupner 12x7 prop using YS 20/20 fuel. Keep the rpm between 10,500 and 11,500 and you should be fine. The 63 likes high rpm. I broke mine in on a test stand running sloppery rich through half a gallon of fuel.
