I am assembling one of these for a friend. Pretty nice ARF if I must say so...
Anyone know what the heck they are covered with? It is REALLY low heat stuff and I have had to repair a couple of spots due to too much heat already. I don't have any yellows or blues that match. |

I think it's Ultracoat/Oracover.

I emailed the importer about the instruction discussing the cello-tape for gap seal. theysaid to use scoth Tape. :(
I have 6 flights on mine with a Wedra .32 and it will hover just fine use the recomended throws for set up as well as CG. I have tripple rates on my JR PCM 10 TX so I set up the recomended low and high rates then put in all the throw I could get. If anything the high rate is a little tame Nice cheap airplane. Don't put a big motor on this one it isn't designed for high speed flight. Sparky |

Jazzy,
No... I don't believe so. This stuff doesnt have any of the properties of any ultrakote I have used. Elm, Yeah, I had to read that several times before I realied they were talking about scotch tape... |
Covering?
Nik, it was just a guess based on some yellow Oracover I used to patch my Kankge Cap's wing-ding. It seemed to me to be about the same stuff. The adhesive backing looked similar too. Working temp. and heat-gunning wrinkles over open bays revealed very similar properties.
Although, the red Ultracoat I put on the firewall didn't exactly match the color of the fuse. Maybe they are using several different brands of covering during assembly... Heck, I dunno. :spinnyeye Let us know what you find out. Jeff |
