dave patrick ultimate 1.20 glitching!!!
Love my DP ulty 1.20, but I get serious glitching in the air at full throttle. I do not get the glitches on the ground.
Powered by a saito 1.50 with a 16x8, the engine is still rich so I know this is not a flutter issue. The rec is brand new, I thought the first one was bad so I got a new one, same issue. Also replaced x-tal All servos are new and work great, they are all digital. I also ran the antenna outside the fuse just in case it was the metallic covering causing the glitch, still no beans. I can not seem to find metal on metal contact any where, the only thing I can think of is the pull pull cables at high RPM the last glitch put me inverted while doing a 60 mph flyby, now I am scared to fly. Also, the throttle is sullivan nyrod with nylon clevis, no metal here. HELP |

Sounds like some sort of intermitent problem. Since you've already eliminated the Rx and crystal as sources for the problem, the most likely place to look is probably the switch harness.
We often take these things for granted w/out thinking that they are are subject to more vribration than other components because they are typically mounted w/out the benifit of shock absorving insulation. |

I would be afraid too!!
most wire for pull/pull have a plastic coating. even the stuff you can get from a tackle store is coated...thinly coated, but none-the-less coated. |

I have the same airplane and engine, but no glitching. I did find a shorted wye during assembly, which caused me fits until I was able to isolate it. I would check my switch and all servo extensions and connections. Gremlins like this are a pain! Good luck!

Considering, this is happening at "Full Throttle", I would go along with a possible vibration problem.
If you have access to an electric engraver. Put a pencil eraser on the end of it , and vibrate the switch, receiver, Xtal etc., etc.. |

A six pack of beer will give you a headache too

I just lost a scratch built Steven's Akro due to a bad switch. I like the battery pack idea also. It has to be one or the other. Good luck John

Are you running 6 volts without a regulater ? This can cause jittery servos.

What about metal clevis's with those fine control horns??? I know there is plastic inside the horn, but the plastic on mine came off while In was hooking up for the first flight...glad my wife saw it fall!!!
