Goldberg cub gear problems

I need some ideas on replacing the landing gear on my Goldberg anniversary cub. The wire gear supplied with the plane is weak and bends even on the most gentle landings I'm hoping that someone will know of a good looking replacement gear set, or a good method of beefing up the stock gear. Thanks.

Mike in Anchorage.

I sketched out the form I needed, got some aircraft aluminum and had it bent into that shape. It's been on three Cubs now and will never bend.

RE: Goldberg cub gear problems

I have not found the landing gear on the GB Cub to be weak. AFter many landings, it has bent back a little, changing tow in to tow out. When that happens I reverse the two landing gear wires, and have tow in again. By the way my cub must be at least 8 years old, and I'm still using the same old gear. However, I seldom fly it any more.

..........a good looking replacement gear set,
www.piperj3gear.com he makes them in several scales, they work great, and are very strong. I've had a set on my 1/5 Sig Cub for almost 4 years, nary a problem.
