im just about done with my cap. i set the cg at 5 5/8 inches. without adding wieght. i did this by puting my 2400 ma 6 v. pack just behind my landing gear. and it balances at exactly 5 5/8. i set my low rates to what the book called for and the high rates to what the book called for. im not worried about 3 d rates. i just want to get used to flying it. do these rates work well? is this plane controllable at this cg and on low rate. i want to be able to calmly get used to this plane. i wieghed the plane. my scales do not read down to the oz. i need to get some new scales. but on a regular scale its 12 lbs.. i want to try and stay away from the snappy nuttiness that my h9 edge had. glad its gone. and this takes its place. also has anyone else bolted there landing gear on with nylon bolts. i used 7 of them. there the flat blade kind. i tried 4 on my other plane and it worked but was a bit week. i want them to brake rather than my fuse. in case of a mistake. but was wondering if anyone else did this and how many did u use. thanks for any input. and hope for nice weather. i want to fly this thing. but not in freezing cold and wind. :p

What size nylon bolts are you using?

Cheers!

Bill:
I sent you an e-mail.
My suggestion would be to move the batteries forward a bit more. Try to start about 1/2" forward on cg for the first few
flights. Watch the elevator travel on low-- about 1" to 1 1/4".
In sort of a training mode use the 1/8" washout to help on
first few landings -- you might like it and leave it in. Long live
the Cap.

Forgot to mention the part about hitting all hot glue joints
with thin Ca and along fuse doublers at wing saddle. Use lots
of epoxy around the L.G. backing plate. My Caps have cracked
there and around wing bolt-down plate.
