[8D]Does anyone can tell me the CG on the Model Tech DRAGON LADY, ??????

Good Evening. I once had a Dragon Lady, but then sold it because I kept tripping over it on my garage floor. I still have the assembly manual. It shows a CG range of 3-3/8" to 4-1/8" back from the LE of the wing. The manual also says to start your test flights with the CG at 3-3/4" (the center of the CG range). Mine balanced out just about right with an O.S. 61 SF and a 4-channel Futaba radio. I wish I had used a more powerful engine in it-the plane seemed a tad underpowered and the engine maxed out at about 10K RPM with a 12x8 prop on it. Good luck.

I had a 160 gemmini twin in mine.
balanced on the spot with the battery pack in the tail, nice performer !
here she is hanging up on the balance rig

BTW I am currently flying my Model Tech Dragon Lady with
Magnum 91 XLS 2 stroke power, swing a Graupner 14-7 prop
flys just right @ half throttle and has plenty to spare for aerobatics
@full throttle. Also have a spare one in the box, just in case, as she
is my favorite to take to the field.

With the square wing you can easily calculate the CG. Measure the chord and start at about 25% x chord back from the leading edge. Then move it around untiul the plane flies the way you want it to. Don't trust the CGs in the manuals. I don't know where some of them come from, but they can be way off at times. Always calculate the CG or use the conservative side of the manual's CG for the first flight. My last 50cc gasser was so tail heavy with the manual's CG it shot straight up when it left the ground. Got real exciting there for a little while. Finally got it gathered up and back on the ground. Needed 14oz. and all the batteries forward to get it flying right.

I just read a test from WWII where the flight's loading conditions were listed and the P-38 and P-51 were at 25 and 27% MAC, the Thunderbolt was at 29%. FF is the only model I want with a CG any further aft!
