E-flite Taylorcraft

need some ideas kicked around! While cleaning up myshop- - needs it from time to time- - I came across a box of 30 size 4 stroke motors, and was wondering if it would be worth it to stuff one in the e-flite T-craft. I know that I "might" have to sheet the motor box and seal off the firewall. I'm thinking it would make a good flyer because it is "electric light" Just wonder if the framework would hold up to a 4 banger? From what I'v seen at the LHS they look built well! All opinions are welcome, dont worry, I have thick skin.

RE: E-flite Taylorcraft

I just finished one and I don't think its a good candidate for conversion. One beef I have with the T-Craft is the landing gear. There just isn't enough framework to handle grass landings even with larger wheels. I removed the wheel pants as well. On hard surface the gear holds up better. I rebuilt the gear area and haven't had any problems on grass. Glad I bought a Eflite 480 motor, the added support requires it. The wood itself, Asian plywood, is fragile and is easily broken. Horizon recently cranked the price of the plane to $170 and I think is a lot of money for this plane.
My two cent worth.
