RE: ryan sta
Cover them with chrome Ultracote. It works! Take your time and do them in sections.

ORIGINAL: serge760 i am looking for a spray paint for the cowl and wheel pants, Umm, like this beauty? Bill |
RE: ryan sta
Metal doesn't work very well on compound curves. Ultracote will work fine there.

RE: ryan sta
thanks, would it work on the cowl and wheel pants with ultracote
|
RE: ryan sta
Yes. Put it on in scale-like sections and be careful not to overheat the fiberglass. (Fiberglass can be reformed with heat, so if you do distort it, you can probably push it back into shape pretty easily.) The covering will stick to the paint just fine.
Pull a crashed cowl out of the field trash can to practice on. (Be sure to clean it thoroughly first.) Jim |
