Modeltech Ulimate 120

Hi Guys,

I was looking at my next project. What do you think about the Modeltech Ulimate 120, what experiences do you have of it? How does it compare to the CG and DP ulimates? As for the engine, I have a YS 120 looking for a home. I want unlimited vertical and 3d. Will it be too big or Heavy?

Thoughts please

Kris

Kris,

This one is about the same size as the DP; IOW, slightly larger than the Goldberg/Lanier/Evil Empire... That last refers to the shell game concerning Goldberg products. Lanier R/C will admit to having purchased Goldberg, but the respective web sites make no mention of it; and who owns Lanier???<G>

Anyway, the WM Ultimate also has a curious cabane arrangement as compared to the other two; looks kind of clunky. While I have a high regard for WM ARFs, I'm waiting for the boat with the next load of Goldberg ARFs to dock; and keeping my fingers crossed that they are of the same exemplary quality as the last ones that were actually sold by the Goldberg company.

The guy at Lanier I spoke with claimed it to be so... we'll see.

That kit is actually distributed through Direct Connection here in the States and isn't available through Hobby People who are the distributor of Model Tech. I have never seen it as an ARF

What is really nice about the kit is its balsa sheeted and shaped fuse. I have one of these and they do fly a little heavier than a Goldberg. Note that it is 56 inch wing and not a 54 like the Goldberg.

How much is that in quid ?

Yeah Baby Shag a delek

Question is what would the performace like with a YS 120. Is it enough to prop hang and 3d? They guess a moki 135 it will be very good. I guess the same weight as the YS 120 and swinging (baby) similar props

Well

Hate to dissapoint you but I think you will wish for more Ooomph.

The YS120 won't give it the clappers that you want

BTW

The YS120 will fly the Goldberg or the World Models well, with that engine.

Thanks Edge

So to conclude the Modeltech 120 will not go like a minx… Looks like the goldburg will be the better option

Cheers Mate
