VQ Models Cap 10

:D Anybody know anything about the VQ Models Cap 10 which is on sale now? Is it a good plane? I have no experience with these folks at Hobby People. The plane looks nice, but I've been disapointed before just on looks. Thanks

What I have read about VQ for various planes has been pretty positive. Regarding Hobby People, I have had only good service from them for the two planes I ordered from them in the last two years. On the last one which I got just a few months ago, they readily replaced a canopy free of charge when I found it slightly defective. Good service, good folks as far as I am concerned. Jon

I was looking at this plane also. It shows the 60 size on sale but out of stock. They have the 120 size in stock on their website.

To me it has a strange looking shape to the fuse for CAP [sm=72_72.gif]

RE: VQ Models Cap 10

From what I have seen of the Cap 10 models by VQ they are pretty true to scale. The 60 has a French registry for it's markings, the 120 size has markings of one of the French Connection Flying Team aircraft in which the they were lost some time ago. From what I have been able to research the markings are very accurate. I intend to fly the model in Fun Scale to break into the event.
I bought the VQ Cap 10 120 size from a Hobby People shop on sale two weeks ago for 219 bucks minus 20 for a promotional coupon. It is a lot of model for that kind of money. I'm very satisfied by it's shapes and the condition of the components.
The Cap 10 is a side by side, two place aerobatic trainer, where the usually modeled Cap 21, 231, 232 are single place and have a much narrower fuse cross section.

All,
My VQ Cap10b on maiden flight day, and on the day of its demise. Not on the same day there is about 6 months between the two.
Also I included a full size version of the standard factory sunburst scheme to give you and Idea of the scale markings from VQ.
I'm going to get another one. Wish they would make a 34% version.

CAP10b,
What engine do you have in that one? I plan on a 1.08.

Stuntfler,
I first flew the plane with a G26-EI installed swinging a 17x8N @ 8000. Pulls good but runs out of poop at about a 300-400 ft climb.
The motor you see in the crash pic is a DZY motor I ran for a friend of mine who's ARF company I sometimes fly for. He brought over
some motors to test and we installed it in the CAP. Needless to say the wreck wasnt my fault (at least thats my story and I'm sticking to it) That little motor would turn a 16x8 APC at about roughly the same RPM maybe more. But it lacked even the G-26 power but
really started and tuned easy.

Almost have an electrified 60 sized one finished. Should have it in the air in another week. Still have the yellow Aircraft !/4 scale version. One of my favorite aerobatic planes. Does Lomcevacs and knifedge spins like no other.:D I hope the smaller version flies as well. Smaller one even comes with seats. One thing I didn't like was the construction of the wing spars as not strong enough. I fibreglassed the three wing sections together.

Thanks,
I'm not up on gas engines. Is there a conversion chart to compare power of gas to glow by displacement?
